About the event
Held one week before the 2026 Poplar Grove Historic Homes Tour, this lecture will provide historical context for the neighborhood attendees will experience during the tour. Learn more about Poplar Grove’s development, the people and communities who have shaped it, and the architecture and historic places that tell the story of this west-side Salt Lake City neighborhood.
The lecture will help set the stage for the October 17 Historic Homes Tour, when guests will have the opportunity to step inside selected historic homes and experience Poplar Grove through its buildings, residents, and stories.
Nan Weber is a researcher with history as a focus. She currently works for Utah Historical Society sharing information and history with the public. Weber has also been a docent at the Utah State Capitol for thirteen years. Preservation, restoration and reactivation of the Fisher Mansion has been a focus of Weber’s since 2015.
