90th Annual Salt Lake Obon Festival 2026
The Obon festival is a Japanese Buddhist tradition dedicated to honoring and celebrating ancestors through traditional Bon Odori dancing, music, taiko performances, and delicious food. This year, they celebrate 90 years of bringing the community together for a night of fun, food, music, & dance.

About the event
Food service starts at 3:00 pm. Traditional Japanese dishes include teriyaki chicken, cold noodles, sushi, and more.
Hawaiian Dancing and Taiko Drumming begin the festival entertainment at 7:00 p.m., followed by beautiful traditional dance in honor of loved ones no longer with us.
Admission is free! Come to the Obon Festival at 211 West 100 South on historic Japantown Street.
