Preservation Utah at 60: Anniversary Kickoff and Ways to Get Involved

In 2026, Preservation Utah marks 60 years of protecting, restoring, and sustaining Utah’s historic places. For six decades, this work has shaped how communities across the state understand, care for, and invest in the historic built environment—and our impact is visible everywhere.

We’re kicking this milestone year off with a series of gatherings that invite reflection, storytelling, and connection. We’ll look back at Preservation Utah’s history through stories of the places protected and the people who made that work possible—from early advocacy efforts to hands-on preservation tools that continue to shape communities across Utah today.

We’ll highlight how Preservation Utah continues to evolve to meet today’s preservation needs—expanding advocacy, strengthening education, broadening representation, and supporting communities statewide—while remaining grounded in the programs and values that have guided the organization for six decades.
